Mission
The mission of IIT Goa is to impart knowledge and provide unique learning experiences to prepare students to be responsible leaders, managers, entrepreneurs, and professionals who will play a leading role in the sustainable development of Goa and the nation as a whole.
  • The learning experience will reflect the human values of the state—diversity and inclusion.
  • In the short term, IIT Goa will have a strong focus on quality education and advanced multidisciplinary programs, and in the long term, it will progress towards a self-sustaining institute.

Teaching and Curriculum
  • IIT Goa is keen on exploring venues for a creative dialogue between communicative pedagogy, experiential knowledge and technology. We are planning a new curriculum which will give each student a chance to show-cause his or her potential. Students will learn to locate their classroom instruction with in broader socio-economic structures, and also get equipped with practical skills to navigate through competitive and creative environments.
Research and Development
  • Without compromising on fundamental research. IIT Goa aims to complete and innovate through multidisciplinary initiatives conducted by an exciting team of young scholars and experienced faculty. By rethinking theoretical and methodological boundaries of disciplines through cutting-edge research, we will not only confront global challenges, but also offer solutions without losing sight of human values and common good.

1.3.1 Process of decision making identify key decision making points Decisions are taken in accordance with the provisions of the Act/ Statutes/ Academic Rules & Regulations / Policies, Rules etc. of the Institute. These include the decisions taken by the Board of Governors from time to time and the actions taken by the Institute in response to any pertinent communication from the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. 1.4 Norms for discharge of functions [Section 4(1)(b)(iv)]
1.4.1 Nature of functions/ services offered To provide for instruction and research in such branches of engineering and technology, sciences and arts, as the Institute may think fit, and for the advancement of learning and dissemination of knowledge in such branches.
1.4.2 Norms/ standards for functions/ service delivery Norms and standards for various academic activities of the Institute decided by the Senate and as per  The IIT Goa Statutes. Norms for research and development and administrative activities as per  The IIT Goa Statutes and decisions taken by the Board of Governors (BoG).
The Annual Report prepared under the direction of BoG and its annual meetings along with audited accounts, etc., of the Institute. The Annual Report of the Institute along with Audited Accounts are placed on the table of both the Houses of the Parliament.

1.12.1 Educational programmes
  • Institute from time to time arranges in-house training for its employees which also includes elements of RTI act.
  • A comprehensive training session on RTI Act for all Non-Teaching Staff Members/PIOs/FAA was conducted on 01-03-2024.
  • The Institute also observes Vigilance Awareness Week every year. Integrity Pledge is administered to all the Employees as a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week conducted every year.
  • Experts are invited regularly to deliver talks on good governance.
