Dr. Rishikesh Narayan, School of Chemical and Materials Science, IIT Goa in collaboration with Prof. Nida Sajid, Dept. of Asian & Middle Eastern Studies, University of Minnesota, completed a 2 year interdisciplinary project 2022-24 on the impact of waste management practices on community health & biodiversity during Covid-19 pandemic. Funded by the Center of Global Health & Social Responsibility at UMN, the collaboration focused on reciprocity & intersectionality in public health by creating an innovative model of collaborative research, capacity building, and active learning. This project will foster long-term mutual partnerships between academic institutions and local communities in Goa through longitudinal research and bidirectional learning models.
