Self-reliant India: A Materials Perspective

On 9th January 2023, Indian Institute of Technology Goa organised an institute lecture on "Self-Reliant India: A Materials Perspective". Dr. Avanish Kumar Srivastava, Honourable Director, CSIR-AMPRI, Bhopal, graced this occasion as the chief guest and delivered a talk on this topic. Honourable Director of our institute, Prof. B.K. Mishra, gave the brief introduction about the achievements of our chief guest Dr. Srivastava in the esteemed presence of Honourable Dean (Academic Programs), Dr. Sachin D. Kore and other faculties as well as research scholars of our institute. Dr. Srivastava enlightened all the attendees with the enormous work he has carried out throughout his research career. He emphasized on his successful findings about replacements to Parrali (a kind of stubble in North India) burning pollutions and shared his experiences about use of red mud in the most productive way. Attendees were excited to know about his huge contributions in the field of Materials for the betterment of India. Indeed, it was a great honour to know and learn from such an eminent person who has truly made our great nation India very much self-reliant from materials perspective.
