Breast screening Camp
<< Back to event list
Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in women in India. One woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, in India, every 4 minutes. And 6 to 8 percent of all cases of breast cancers are likely to be hereditary, meaning, they can be passed on in the family from a mother to her children.
Screening for breast cancer means looking for signs of breast cancer in all women, even if they have no symptoms. The goal of screening is to catch cancers early. Early-stage cancers are easier to treat than later-stage cancers, and the chance of survival is higher.
Our Institute has organised a free breast cancer screening camp for women in our campus on 23rd September 2022. A total of 81 people underwent screening which included female staffs, students and their family members.
