The curriculum of the M.Tech. program involves foundational core courses, as well as advanced electives on specialized areas and interdisciplinary aspects. In addition, the program is integrated with a strong independent research component in the form of a one-year M.Tech. thesis.
The program offers the following two specializations.
- Fluid and Thermal Engineering
- Design and Manufacturing
Candidates will choose their choice of specialization during the admission process.
M.Tech. Students undertake thesis work in one of the frontier
research areas of Mechanical engineering under the direct guidance of one of the faculty of the school. They are encouraged to publish their research in reputed journals and present in leading international conferences. Preparation to the thesis work is enabled through a seminar course in the curriculum. Overall, the M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering equips its students with strong skillsets both for advanced PhD programs and industry leadership.
