Student highlights

  • Mr. Shubham Ganar won 2nd Prize at SPARC Workshop on “Greener Pesticide Spray Management — Towards a Sustainable Future” February 24-25, 2025 at Jadavpur University Kolkata. 
  • Mr. Akshat Jain received grant from the International Travel Support (ITS) scheme of ANRF to attend the Europen Aerosol Conference in Tampere, Finland (2024). Akshat is advised by Dr. Thaseem Thajudeen and Dr. Anirudha Ambekar.
  • Mr. Akshat Jain received the best oral presentation award at ISEES Conference on Sustainable Energy and Environmental Challenges 2024 held at IIT Mandi in December 2024. Akshat is advised by Dr. Thaseem Thajudeen and Dr. Anirudha Ambekar.
  • Mr. Rubal Dhiman received a travel grant to attend the India Clean Air Summit held in Bangalore in August 2023. Rubal is advised by Dr. Thaseem Thajudeen and Dr. Anirudha Ambekar.
  • Mr Nandit Nair, an M.Tech student advised by Dr Sudhakar Yogaraj, has delivered an invited talk at the oneAPI DevSummit for HPC & AI, Southeast Asia 2023, held on 03 August 2023 in Bengaluru.
  • Mr. Akshat Jain received the 3rd prize in the Lightning talk event at the IASTA National Conference in Mumbai in November 2023.
  • Mr. Himanshu Marwah received the best student paper award in the conference Manipulation Automation and Robotics at Small Scales (MARSS) held at New York University at Abu Dhabi (2023). Himanshu is advised by Dr. Sreenath Balakrishnan.
  • Mr. Rubal Dhiman received a travel grant to attend the Air Sensors International Conference held in Bangalore in August 2022. Rubal is advised by Dr. Thaseem Thajudeen and Dr. Anirudha Ambekar.
  • Research work carried out by B.Tech students Ashwin B and Tapan Lokhande, advised by Prof. Rajesh S. Prabhu Gaonkar, received the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on “Embracing Industry 4.0 Technologies for Sustainable Growth (ICEI 4.0)”, organized by the MCT’s Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai, 21–23 April 2022.
  • Mr. Himanshu Marwah won the Student’s Mechanism Design Competition at the National Conference on Machines and Mechanisms (iNaCOMM) at IIITDM Jabalpur (2021).
  • Mr. Akshat Jain received the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF)  in the December 2020 cycle. Akshat is advised by Dr. Thaseem Thajudeen and Dr. Anirudha Ambekar.

Faculty awards & recognition

  • Dr. Thaseem Thajudeen was awarded the Scientific High-Level Visiting Fellowship (SSHN) 2025 from the French Institute in India (IFI).
  • Professor Rajesh S. Prabhu Gaonkar is awarded the Gomantak Engineering Excellence Award — 2024 (Inaugural/ First Edition) in the category of Engineer’s Role in Education, by the Gomantak TV in association with the Government of Goa. The awards were constituted to celebrate innovation, excellence and spirit of engineering in Goa and are awarded to the Goan Engineers who have excelled in the various fields.
  • Dr Sudhakar Yogaraj has received the prestigious Ramanujan Fellowship awarded by DST-SERB. The duration of the fellowship will be 2018–2023.
  • Dr. Arindam Das and Dr. Shakthi Prasad One of the Winners of Defence India Startup challenge. Project: “Bilge Oily Water Separation for Indian Navy”- iDex 2018-19.
