In this video, Dr. Arindam Das discusses the lab's mission and ongoing research in Interfacial Science.
March 2026: Lab awarded new grant for Bio-inspired surfaces.
Jan 2026: Welcome to our new PhD members!
Associate Professor, IIT Goa
Dr. Das is an Associate Professor at IIT Goa with a career spanning over 15 years of excellence in Mechanical Engineering and Interfacial Science. His journey began at Jadavpur University, where he laid his foundational engineering roots before moving to the United States to pursue advanced research.
At the University of Illinois at Chicago, his doctoral work pushed the boundaries of nanotechnology and polymer composites. This path led him to a prestigious four-year tenure as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at MIT, where he specialized in liquid-impregnated surfaces and advanced heat transfer—work that has since been featured on the covers of leading journals like ACS Langmuir.
Returning to India, Dr. Das briefly served at BITS Pilani before joining IIT Goa in 2018. Today, he leads a vibrant research group focused on Biomimicry, EMI Shielding, and Nanotechnology, bridging the gap between fundamental interfacial science and real-world industrial applications for the Indian Navy and global tech sectors.
