2nd Foundation Day
Indian Institute of Technology Goa (IIT Goa) celebrated its first year of existence on July 30, 2017. It was on this day, a year ago, IIT Goa made its auspicious beginning from the Goa Engineering College campus in the presence of Hon’ble HRD Minister Mr. Prakash Javadekar, the then Hon’ble Defence Minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar and Mr. Laxmikant Parsekar, the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa. International Yoga Day
In December 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga, after the call for the adoption of 21 June as International Day of Yoga was made by the Hon’ble Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. As a part of the global initiative and as an endeavour towards promoting a holistic approach to health and well-being, IIT Goa celebrated the “International Yoga Day” on its GEC campus. Hackathon 2017

Republic Day
IIT Goa celebrated the 68th Republic Day of the nation on January 26, 2017. It was on this day in the year 1950 that the constitution of India came into effect, thereby, cementing India’s status as a sovereign socialist secular democratic republic. Keeping up with tradition, Dean Prof. Sharad Bhartiya hoisted the national flag during the ceremony held at the GEC grounds.  read more..
