Republic Day
IIT Goa celebrated the 68th Republic Day of the nation on January 26, 2017. It was on this day in the year 1950 that the constitution of India came into effect, thereby, cementing India’s status as a sovereign socialist secular democratic republic. Keeping up with tradition, Dean Prof. Sharad Bhartiya hoisted the national flag during the ceremony held at the GEC grounds.

Gandhi Jayanti
On account of Gandhi Jayanti, the students organized an event on poetry recitation by Mr. Ashish Kumar on October 2, 2016.

Teachers’ Day
To commemorate the birth anniversary of noted philosopher, educationist and statesman Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the Indian Institute of Technology Goa (IIT Goa) celebrated its Teachers’ Day on September 5, 2016 at the Institute. The students, on the occasion, felicitated the mentoring faculty members from IIT Bombay.

Vigilance Week Pledge Administration
Vigilance Awareness Week was celebrated in the Institute from October 31 to November 5, 2016. The theme of Vigilance Awareness Week this year was “Public participation in promoting integrity and eradicating corruption”. Preventive Vigilance is broadly described as a package of measures aimed at improving systems and procedures to reduce scope for discretion and eliminate corruption in an organization. The Director administered pledge to the functionaries of the Institute and Heads of the academic units. The academic and administrative units were also requested to observe Vigilance Awareness Week and take the pledge in their respective units.
