Applications are invited for the position of Junior/Senior research fellow to work in the project entitled “A multiscale modeling framework for fluid-poroelastic structure interaction”. The project is sponsored by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) in the framework of Ramanujan fellowship.

Nature of work: The research fellow will be working on modeling the interaction of incompressible fluids and poroelastic media. The project involves multiscale finite element analysis and development of a computational code. (no finite element commercial packages)

Desired qualification:

  • M.Sc in Mathematics/Physics, or M.Tech./M.E. in mechanical or a relevant degree. Exceptional candidates with B.Tech/B.E. will also be considered for JRF
  • Candidates with B.Tech/B.E. should have a valid GATE score.
  • Candidates with M.Sc. should have either one of UGC-NET, JRF of CSIR/ UGC/ NBHM/ DBT/ ICAR/ ICMR/ ICPR, or DST INSPIRE Fellowship
  • Preferably, experience in finite element analysis or fluid mechanics
  • Preferably, good working knowledge of any programming language

Salary: Rs. 25,000 + HRA (for JRF), and Rs. 28,000 + HRA (for SRF). Candidates with relevant experience in finite element analysis will be paid higher.

Duration: Initially for a period of one year. It can be further extended based on the performance of the candidate, and availability of funding.
